Notes

A couple of Sundays ago we held worship in the round. Here’s the set-up of the worship space before moIMG_20160703_100919661st people arrived.

It was an excellent design to help us better understand the verse from Galatians that we focused on that day: ‘ Bear one another’s burdens’ (Galatians 6:2). As one of us in the circle remarked within the circle, we really have to be able to see each other if we are to bear each other’s burdens.

We’re going to worship in the round again this Sunday.

On Sunday July 24 we’re worshipping in the open air in the front side yard of Central Public SchoIMG_20160706_090247623ol. Worship is at the same time as usual – 10:30 am. If you have lawn chairs by all means bring one for yourself. If you can bring one for someone else that would be great too.folding-lawn-chairs-300x289

Going out into a public space for this worship service reminds me of our Good Friday Social Justice Stations of the Cross walk. We walk from station to station on that walk and have a short worship service at each site. Nothing different here, just a little longer.

If anyone has time this weekend, you might consider checking out the World Music Festival at Gage Park, http://hamiltonworldmusicfest.com/. Internationally regarded sitarist and friend of New Vision Neeraj Prem closes out the Saturday evening show, starting his set at about 10:00 pm. Free admission.

See you Sunday!

Rev. Ian
