The Canada Day edition of New Vision Notes (mysteriously two days late!)

1. The summer has arrived. I am off to the Wild Goose Festival next week. The Wild Goose is an annual progressive Christian camping festival held in North Carolina with amazing speakers and musicians and neat opportunities to get to know other Christians.  For something similar nearby, and new, you might look into the Skylight Festival. It’s an experience similar to Wild Goose being held for the first time ever on the Paris Ontario Fairgrounds. http://www.skylightfestival.ca/
2. Then I’m gratefully taking vacation and will be back on August 18. For any emergency pastoral care while I’m on vacation I’d ask you to contact Linda Waugh (905) 516-6020 or Helen Bradley (905) 807-2319. They will put you in touch with a minister.
3. We were witnesses to Pride in our service last Sunday. Thanks to all who made it a unique statement of our commitment to diversity and inclusivity. I look forward to our Affirming discernment process in the fall.  
4. I may get one more edition of New Vision Notes out next week before my vacation, but I also may not. So, a blessed time to everyone while I am vacationing. We have a wonderful line up of guests and members leading worship while I am aware, for which, much thanks to all who have organized it.
5. Remember and mark in your datebook: our farewell celebration and send off to our most esteemed Music Director Brian Turnbull on Sunday, August 23.
