Welcome to this week’s edition of New Vision Notes! If you’re reading for the first time, we’re glad you’ve subscribed. If you’ve been a subscriber for a while, we’re grateful to continue reaching you each week.

1. This coming Sunday‘s service is Transfiguration Sunday and the second Sunday of Black History Month. Our service will be led by Linda and others from our church community.
2. Mark your calendars! New Vision’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday February 18th, following a post-worship potluck! The sign-up sheet for the potluck lunch will still be available this Sunday if you didn’t get a chance to sign up last week.
3. The 2023 Annual Report was sent out to Threshold Partners earlier this week. If you didn’t receive the report and feel you should have, please reach out to us. A limited number of printed copies will be available this coming Sunday and on the 18th in anticipation of the AGM.
4. Put on your dancing shoes! We will be hosting a Rainbow Dance for Newcomers and Allies on Sunday February 25th from 2-6pm. The suggested admission is $5-10 (pay as you may). There will be refreshments on sale, with all proceeds going to support our friends at The Nature Network (refugees helping refugees in Kenya). It’s sure to be a fun-filled afternoon!
5. PIE Day 2024 is fast approaching! The theme for 2024 is: PIE in the Public Square. Why PIE? PIE = Public. Intentional. Explicit. Those are the standards we hold ourselves and our welcome to when we seek to live into being Affirming, Welcoming, or Inclusive people and communities. On Thursday February 15th at 7pm there will be an interesting panel discussion on Zoom called “Living out PIE in the Public Square”. You may register to attend the panel here .
6. The World Health Organization has declared that the COVID-19 pandemic has ended. We no longer ask people to mask to be part of our worship gathering; however, very much know that we remain mask friendly!
