Notes

“Wildflowers” was the theme of this year’s annual pride service held last Sunday. Major props to the band and Robin Miles who were leading wildflowers! in our time together.  A lot of other wildflowers! were involved and thanks to them too. The list is very long. Here’s a photo of the gathering as our service came to a joyful end with “Lean on Me.”pride service 2016

Our welcome summer BBQ afterward was great, as usual. Summer truly cooperated by being summer.

What’s next? Summer time, and a slower pace. I am here through July and then have the first four weeks of August off for my vacation. We are still working on which park to use for our outdoor service on July 24. I’ll let you know.

If anyone is thinking of attending a festival this summer try out the Skylight Festival July 29-31 in Paris Ontario. From their website: How Skylight began… We are a small, ecumenical group of people passionate about arts, faith and justice. We each found ourselves longing to create an open space for people of diverse backgrounds to come together, exploring faith while engaging in art and being inspired by speakers and seekers of justice. So, we began to gather and dream. And the vision of Skylight emerged… http://www.skylightfestival.ca/IMG_20160630_090040223

Finally, we’re delighted with our new door on the MacNab/Main St. W. corner of the building. Given the narrow sidewalk for the main and very large doors, we’re going to experiment with not using the main and very large doors at all except for very big events. Thus, on Sunday, they will not be opened and there will be signs pointing you to the “gathering space” door on the MacNab/Main St. W. corner of the building. Hope this makes sense to you as we adapt the building to who we are.

Enjoy Canada Day and see you Sunday ~ blessings on all who are travelling.

Rev. Ian
