Thursday October 2, 2025 Welcome to a new edition of New Vision Notes! We are grateful to be reaching you each week. This Sunday is the 17th Sunday after Pentecost (World Communion Sunday). Our service (with communion) will be led by Rev. Diane and Rev. Dr. Miriam and will feature New Vision’s first Baptism! Membership Classes continue this Sunday! Membership class will meet after worship in the SW Lounge. There will be a new set of 6 classes again after Christmas for people who are interested in becoming members of the congregation.
Renovation Preparation Days! Thank you to the hardworking team who came out today and helped organize and prepare areas of the building for the upcoming renovations! We will have a Pay What You Can Salvage Sale following worship this Sunday, October 5th, and then the public will be invited to the sale from 2-5pm. There are lots of items that could use a new home! Free-will offerings will be graciously accepted and will benefit our refugee sponsorship. Please consider sticking around after church to help out. More details will be shared on Sunday.
Mark your calendars! It’s almost time to begin a journey through 40 days of learning, faithful reflection, and prayerful action! The 40 Days of Engagement on Anti-Racism returns on October 14. As always, though, you can participate at any time of year. Together, we will learn, pray and reflect on actions we can take as a faith community. A Song of Faith – A Song of Faith, adopted in 2006, seeks to provide a verbal picture of what The United Church of Canada understands its faith to be in the historical, political, social, and theological context of the early 21st century. It is also a means of ongoing reflection and an invitation for the church to live out its convictions in relation to the world in which we live.
