Today’s note is a heads-up that we will be worshiping in the open air on Sunday July 24, weather permitting.
We’ll gather in the side yard of Central Public School. Central is located on Hunter St. just behind City Hall.
Central Public School is famous because it was one of the first fruits of Egerton Ryerson’s vision for public education in Ontario.
Egerton Ryerson was an ordained Methodist minister. He preached at the inaugural service of Centenary United Church (now our MacNab St. site) in 1869.
There is a lovely grove of trees and well-maintained plant and flower beds in the side yard. We can enter the yard by crossing Hunter St. to it.
There is parking in the City Hall lot directly across from our planned gathering space. To get to the parking you enter off of Hunter Street. All things considered we think this is pretty accessible outdoor space for everyone but we’ll be looking out for those who might need assistance.
Remember to bring lawn chairs. The area is quite shaded so I don’t anticipate problems with sun and heat.
See you at New Vision this Sunday, and next!
Rev. Ian
