Notes

A remarkable anniversary weekend this past weekend marked New Vision’s second vibrant year.

There was a lot going on. Our LGBTQ team personed a booth on Saturday afternoon at Hamilton’s Pride at the Pier. They offered invitations to all to come to our anniversary dinner and show that evening. With folks from all the various ministries of New Vision on hand and with New Vision’s friends, there were over 90 people where we had planned for between 50-60!

The evening’s entertainment left us all with great pride in the musical talents of our community of faith. Thanks to all who made the evening so memorable – from the organizers to the kitchen to the entertainers.  And there was dancing!

On Sunday morning we heard Evelyn Myrie invite us further into the journey of beloved community. She noted the importance of the vigil we held last week in response to the hate crime of the Orlando mass shooting. She went on to challenge us to appreciate that when a part of the body is broken, we pay attention to heal it so the whole body is restored. People of colour are systemically wounded by the culture of whiteness of North American society. We can join together to enable healing.world refugee day

Monday was World Refugee Day. Here is a photo of our sign marking the day.

This Sunday, June 26, is our Pride Service Sunday and our Welcome Summer BBQ. The LGBTQ team has pulled together a great service, with the band. There may be Village People…

See you Sunday~

Rev. Ian
