Notes

Tired knees were strengthened, trembling hands were stilled, and the people who wandered in darkness saw the light…

  1. My opening today (above) is from one of the readings we’ll be listening to during our Service of Lessons and Carols this Sunday at 4 pm. Come join in with the New Vision choir, its Leader Stephen Lee, and our diverse group of readers to celebrate the coming of the One who saves, “the Word who became indomitable Spirit, and sowed its seeds…”
  2. Then after the service we’ll sit down as a community and enjoy a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, thanks to our indefatigable fellowship team. Pay as you may.
  3. Our Sunday morning service this coming Sunday is Advent 3 (the time flies!). As part of the service, our Common Cup Players will be presenting a John-the-Baptizer monologue written by the Common Cup’s own Robin Miles.
  4. The Marketing and Communications Group has worked away through the fall at helping New Vision be a cNew Vision colour logoommunity that “sees” the people of the neighbourhoods around it. They’ve commissioned and the Church Council has approved this logo for New Vision. In the New Year look to be rolling out a communication strategy with our neighbours to increase our seeing and being seen.
  5. A week today, December 16 at 7 pm, we hold our service of Remembrance and Hope. Christmas time holds many special memories, and often is a time we feel lonely for friends and family who have parted from us. Let us join together in the sorrow that will inevitably well up at such times next Wednesday, for the Spirit will comfort us.

See you Sunday ~

Rev. Ian
