New Vision Notes

Thursday April 10, 2025

Welcome to a new edition of New Vision Notes! We are grateful to be reaching you each week. This coming Sunday we mark Palm/Passion Sunday. Our service will be led by Pippa, Erick, and other awesome folks from our New Vision Community.

New Vision’s Maundy Thursday Service will take place next Thursday, April 17th at 6:30pm. This service will be in-person only, in our regular worship space.

The Annual Social Justice Walk is taking place the following day (Good Friday), April
18th, at 12:00 Noon. We will gather and begin the walk at City Hall. The event will wrap up at Trinity Lutheran Church, at the corner of Hughson and Wilson Streets.

New Vision’s Easter Service (with communion) will be led by Rev. Diane and Rev. Dr. Miriam at our regular worship time on Sunday April 20th.

***Important Building Access Update!***

New Vision needs to do some repair work on the building exterior! For everyone’s safety, some parts of the sidewalk around our building are now closed. Please continue to use the accessible door on the corner of Main and MacNab (close to our illuminated sign).

Jackson Stokes and the Mount Nemo Rattlers will be performing at Club Absinthe (in Hess Village) this Saturday evening. Don’t miss this opportunity to cheer on our friend, and Music Hall’s own Kevin Dick on stage! Info and tickets are available by clicking here.

Vote Your Values – As the Federal Election approaches, The United Church of Canada encourages us to vote for our values. Rev. Michael Blair shares an inspiring message with us in a video that we may view on YouTube through this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhPHAkW1ijw

A Song of Faith – A Song of Faith, adopted in 2006, seeks to provide a verbal picture of what The United Church of Canada understands its faith to be in the historical, political, social, and theological context of the early 21st century. It is also a means of ongoing reflection and an invitation for the church to live out its convictions in relation to the world in which we live. Please click here to view (and/or download) this important literature.

Would you like to try leading a worship service? Our worship team is looking for some folks to consider leading worship. It’s a fun and meaningful way to contribute to our faith community! Please reach out to Julie or Dan to learn more about putting a service together.
